Horrible bathroom- help! It needs a complete gutting. My goal is to have a more modern design with a soak-in tub. What I dislike about my current bathroom is that it lacks function and practicality. The walk-in shower is tiny & also divided by a closet- ideally, shower & tub should be together. Additionally, the closet is extremely deep and hard to reach, and so I’d like to get rid of it to expand the shower area.
Storage is very important to me, but so is practicality. For example, the closet features some shelves on the inside, and some negative space, which I’ve used as a clothes hamper area. The shelves are obsolete because I have to take out the hamper then entirely stuff myself inside, then scale the walls to reach the upper shelves 😅. Because of that issue, I resorted to a modular shelf over the commode for my towels- which I don’t love but at least I’m not climbing walls. In case you’re wondering, i also could never fit an appropriate sized step ladder. So with that in mind, I’d love it if we could incorporate a custom linen cabinet and built- in hamper area in lieu of the closet. Note the area by the window: it’s a petite space but perhaps that might work for a hamper area, etc. :)

My ideal bathroom has a soaking tub in which I can relax & decompress. I’m a fan of statement walls, light sconces, bold statements, chandeliers, etc. not a fan of white floors. I like everything for the most part. Old world & new world mix, sophisticated, gold, black & white, pop of color. Would like to try a countertop in a different color.

Bathroom:

Using lighter colors in your medium-sized room will make it feel more airy and bright

For your main color, we chose to use warm off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
