We want to decorate our living room to be appropriate for adults to enjoy. We want to be able to accommodate a tv area and an area for a piano/library. Using non-toxic, green furniture and accessories is highly important.

We do not like the original window on the east side of the room. It is currently filled with leftover and secondhand furniture and doesn't feel warm and inviting.

Additional comments to designers

We'd love a room to enjoy with adults. We want to be able to watch tv, read, or play piano. We'd love to replace the original windows with perhaps doors to the outside, but then we would need to move the AC unit and bushes just outside. Thoughts about that would be great. I have had cancer twice so we try to be as thoughtful as possible about what products come into the home. We want non toxic and low voc products. We want the room to feel cozy and warm. Living Room:

Since your room is smaller using a dark and rich color will make it feel cozy, warm, and lounge-like

For your main color, we chose to use green because it is soothing to the eye. It reminds us of nature and has a refreshing, stress relieving quality. Green is suitable for any room. This soothing color encourages relaxation or tranquility, but has enough warmth to encourage comfort and harmony.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
