What do you currently dislike about the room?

It is big, and we don't know what to do with the space. We also need a king size bed. Also, there are small high windows that we don't know how to cover so we can get the room totally dark for sleeping. We are tired of the sleigh bed style, and the dark cherry wood furniture.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?

There is an aerial silk rigged in the room (because it had the highest ceiling) that we would like to keep and incorporate into the design. Possibly keep the crystal lights on the nightstand. Do not want to remove or change our the existing ceiling fans and can lights. Do not want to remove the plantation shutters.

We think we prefer a bed that is NOT upholstered for maintenance reasons. In general, because we have small children, we would like things that are easy to maintain and not easily ruined, stained, or broken.

We like a clean contemporary look with whimsical detail.

Things we love: tall headboards, geometric shapes

We do not need any dressers since we have a master closet with lots of storage

Bedroom:

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
