Project Description

We moved into our house 4 years ago and never decorated my room. I would just like to finish the room.
Marie likes teenager preppy, bright rooms. Likes the contemporary lines but the warm feeling of the transitional.

Below are the colors Marie likes. You do not need to add all 3 colors. Sticking with one color is fine. She just likes the pop of color from any of them.

What do you currently dislike about the room?

Nothing on the walls and none of the furniture really matches. I like the color of the walls but the rooms I like on my pinterest board are all white. Would be nice to save the room color but willing to paint if that make the room come together better.
Like the bed but the nail heads on the bed are more bronze than gold so this kind of bothers Marie. She said if we could paint them gold she would like the bed more. She could take or leave the bed.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?

Keep Pottery Barn Blair Nightstand.
Would like to keep what we can but would rather have a room I love than keep the old.
So, Willing to change bed, change desk (west elm x pbt Mid-Century 52" Desk)
change light fixture, change the desk chair (pottery barn chair)...etc. Need new bedding and pillows too.
There is triangle wall fixture and "eye" that she likes but if you said something else is better she would consider something else. Same with the furry bench and pot stand.

Marie is 17 years old. She wants trendy but not to "little girl". Open to a new layout, would do Wall paper on 1 wall, likes pops of color with white either via pillow on the bed or art work etc. . Wants a full length mirror. Prefer gold over silver and black. Open to a rug. Attached is her pinterest board.

Bedroom:

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
