Project Description

I need help with a new rooftop patio that I just had built out. Its a good size space (~560 sq. ft) and is a blank canvas given all I've done thus far is install a composite deck floor. My wife and I just purchased a sectional for the space (Belvedere collection from RH) but besides that we're starting from scratch. I would describe our style as Transitional that leans toward Modern / Contemporary.

Also, we live in Chicago and would like to move quickly given the limited time to enjoy the space.

Additional comments to designers

The area in front of the TV is where the sectional will go. This space will function as an outdoor living room area. Its important to have a large umbrella (10-13 ft. square) to provide shade for this space.

Ideas for the rest of the space include: (i) a relaxation area (e.g., day bed, comfortable seating, swing chair, etc.) and (ii) dining area with table and chairs. In addition, I'll need ideas for outdoor greenery (e.g., planters)

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
