Project Description

We had a plumbing leak in our master bathroom a while ago. We need to do a complete gut job. We need help designing the entire bathroom. We need help with fixtures, finishes and layout. Our GC who has a custom cabinet person who can make whatever you design. We hate the current look. Our home has a coastal vibe and our current bathroom does NOT.

What do you currently dislike about the room?

We hate everything, except the plantation shutters. Those are newer and we have them on every window in our home. We have the sill casings in a closet. When the nasty tile comes off the wall, we will install them.

I hate the giant tub. It takes forever to fill and it’s a bit scary getting out of it. Wet feet and a travertine step are not a good combo. I want a free standing tub as I love to take a bath.

Additional comments to designers

We do not want to keep a medicine cabinet. I would love some sort of tower storage for at least the right side of the bathroom to hold hair product and makeup. We want two shower heads on the shower so we can shower at the same time. They need to be further apart than they are right now. We bump into each other. I need a seat for saving my legs. It does not have to be near as deep as the current one. We need shower niches for shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, etc.

I attached a pic of our cabana bathroom to give you a feel for our style. Please ignore all the crap in the shower. Our daughter is home from college for a few weeks and has decided she prefers this bathroom.

Bathroom:

Using lighter colors in your medium-sized room will make it feel more airy and bright

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use a satin finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
