What do you currently dislike about the room?

This room is so spacious and has such beautiful light, but right now it's not a room I feel comfortable in. it's too sparse, not cozy, and it feels as though everything in here is because we didn't know where else to put it. nothing feels intentional. I want to luxuriate in this room. I want to mix patterns and textures and make it feel like a room that wants to be lived in. Right now it's just a place where I sleep and occasionally watch tv. There's no personality.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?

I think we should work with the bedside tables. they just need new knobs. I love the art above the bed, as well and of course let's keep the TV. But that's really it.

We tend to buy a lot of antiques and we love color - not afraid of it. We thought about maybe painting the ceiling gold! We're also not afraid of big bold pieces. we love art and hate a bare wall. We'd also like to have a space to sit and read, write, watch tv, etc that isn't a bed or a stiff chair. either a loveseat or oversized chair that feels cozy and inviting.

Since your room is large your color options with this room are quite broad

For your main color, we chose to use Burgundy. It has a luxurious and creative aura. In its darkest hues, Burgundy is rich and sophisticated and gives a color scheme more depth.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
