Warm & Colorful Eclectic Condo Interior Design Project Description
Just moved in to small 890 sq. foot condo.We are newly married,have a few pieces of furniture. The view is Everything ,Large sliding glass doors and 2 windows at a very odd height. Corner unit. Ceilings are concrete. Lighting only available on east side ceiling,no way to wire the right side. We want to bring the view into the living/ dining room. Everything can be painted: ceilings walls doors molding.The floors are a light mottled terra-cotta style tile. It is impossible to change them. There’s a mirror wall on west (right) side .We are both tall, and comfortable seating is important.We like Color,an Eclectic Mix of styles, and nothing too”studied”. This condo is not supposed to look serious! We
want comfort and style with humor. We considered a dark green wall, and a pale blue ceiling to mimic the outside. There is a curved ceiling panel above kitchen and entry hall.Would like to accent that. We will also be doing the bedroom. We have a IKEA Malm bed in light oak, a desk and an end table
which was originally in a living room.We can send photos of what we would like to keep.

Morning light What do you currently dislike about the room?
Walls and ceiling are textured called “knockdown” ,cannot use any wallpaper. Want to cover entire floor facing sliding windows( big rug). Floors are mottled terra cotta color with dull pinkish and cream hues. Side windows are at odd height. Former owner put up teak panels on west( right wall).The room is too hard and too many sharp angles.There is only one useable ceiling outlet on east wall. Window frames are bright white. Current paint color hideous,also shiny, including ceiling. What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?
We have family original Danish Teak dining table. Has 2 expansion leaves, can seat twelve. 3 original Danish chairs.(1 got crushed during move). 2 cane back curved bamboo dining chairs.These need reupholstering. One Italian glass end table. Two silly posters. One lamp purchased in Istanbul. One large Turkish wool rug. Plant stand. Tallish modern lamp in ivory white. Are you open to changing your wall colors?

Windows on east side measure: 4’2” H x 4’4 W. They are 3’9 1/2” from the floor. Sills are black granite and 6 “ W. Ceilings are concrete. Only the east(right) facing wall has an outlet on ceiling.( We thought track lights?). There are lots of electrical outlets throughout.Sun rises on east side, this is blinding in morning. Front sliding glass doors measure 8’ H x 8’ W. Because doors open left to right, no bookshelves can be put on east side due to dampness. Any big rug has to be able to be rolled up for Hurricanes.We want to paint everything. Walls ceiling , mounding doors. We like lots of color,Bright accents, unusual window treatments. Lighting is important,so you can read at night...hope this helps.

We have oak color IKEA Malm bed. Two wall mounted modern reading lamps that pivot.Huge antique Turkish rug that goes wall to wall. One end table, MCM design, formerly in living room.Desk in white bleached teak. If end table could be used in living room ok. Are you open to changing your wall colors?

Since your room is smaller using a dark and rich color will make it feel cozy, warm, and lounge-like
For your main color, we chose to use green because it is soothing to the eye. It reminds us of nature and has a refreshing, stress relieving quality. Green is suitable for any room. In bedrooms it’s relaxing and pleasing, while in dining rooms it promotes overall balance and health. This soothing color encourages relaxation or tranquility, but has enough warmth to encourage comfort and harmony.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
